Near Infrared - the window into in vivo biology

VisEn is pioneering a new era of in vivo imaging, enabling scientists not only to detect and monitor biology, but also to measure and accurately quantify biological mechanisms and therapeutic responses deep within the body in real time,
yet non-invasively.
To achieve the highest quality images and accurate quantification when imaging in vivo, VisEn exploits to the full the advantages of working within the near-infrared spectral region (600-900 nm). Across this wavelength range, light absorption by physiologically abundant molecules such as hemoglobin, oxyhemoglobin, deoxyhemoglobin and, to a lesser extent, water, is reduced to a minimum. Consequently, Quantitative Tomography systems, based on VisEn's proprietary FMT technology, and the VisEn range of biocompatible fluorescence agents are developed and optimized for use in the near infrared spectral region - ensuring maximum light penetration and highest sensitivity
